Kirroughtree - cross country heaven

Along with its relatively near neighbour, Dalbeattie, Kirroughtree represents some of the best trailcentre singletrack anywhere in the UK, if not western Europe. The trails flow, have repeatedly technical and demanding sections of such variety that you'll never get bored and represent challenges both uphill and downhill - which makes a nice change from the normal fire road slog uphill. Features like McMoab get all the press attention, but its the natural feel of the trails and the way that the sections work well as a collection that really makes the place for me. If you like your XC riding to have a more technical all-mountain feel but like the convenience of trailcentre riding, Kirroughtree is right up your street.

Pros: For XC trailcentre riding, is there anywhere better in the UK than the Kirroughtree black?

Cons: some more DH style stuff would be brilliant
