Alpe d'Huez - home of the famous MEGAVALANCHE and surely one of the biggest and best bike parks in Europe. Any bike park that can boast 10 x World Downhill Champion Nicolas Vouilloz as bike ambassador has got to be pretty damn good! The Alpe d’Huez Grand Domaine VTT Bike Park has over 250 km of mountain biking trails, with 2610 meters of vertical drop over a vast range of unbeatable terrain with scenery of outstanding natural beauty. There are an unbelievable 9 cable cars available to bikers, giving access to 35 signposted trails, with terrain suitable for everyone from beginners to experts.
There are 11 cross-country trails, 10 enduro trails, and 14 permanent downhill trails. The DH3 Poutran trail down to Oz is a highlight - some great lines and big jumps, this course has been used in the past for the Avalanche Cup and for the Nissan European Downhill Cup. And of course there is the 30 km non-stop downhill track of the Megavalanche, the longest DH in the world! Start on the glacier at Pic Blanc, 3,330 m above sea level, and finish at Allemont in the valley some 2610 meters below. Epic riding in the French Alps. And if that wasn't enough, Alpe d'Huez Bike Park also has 2 Four Cross, 3 Pump Tracks, 2 northshore and drop zone areas and 1 trial area. And there's a free shuttle between Allemont and Oz en Oisans to reach the lift and a free shuttle between Alpe d'Huez and Auris en Oisans to ride 4 new DH trails!
