Introduction

The first and most famous Bulgarian mountain resort, Borovets Bike Park is situated on the northern slopes of the Rila Mountain at an altitude of 1300 meters. The resort enjoys a perfect location right at the foot of Mount Musala (2925 m), the highest peak on the Balkans. Only 72 km away from Sofia and just 126 km away from Plovdiv, Borovets is easily accessible from all parts of Bulgaria. Borovets Mountain Bike Park was set up in 2010 and has over 20km of marked trails with different levels of difficulty, equally suitable for beginners and experts. The park’s pride is the downhill trail. 2400m in length and 440m of descent, it's perfectly equipped to provide a demanding DH experience. In the 2013 season a new dedicated family track was built, which is suitable for all ages. It's 14 km long, with a light workload, and takes in some of the most beautiful scenery in the resort. For the whole ride you need about two hours, which makes it very suitable for family outings. The Sitnyakovo Express lift provides the uplift capability for the gravuity riders, and in less than 12 minutes you and your bike will reach the starting line of an unforgettable adventure.
