Review and advice
We went in July, which is genuinly considered the best time for good temperatures in Chatel (not too hot). If you want NO rain, go in August.
There was LOADS of rain when we went, which is unusual. The more extreme black runs were shut for safety, but there was still loads to do. There's tons of tracks, and your VTT pass covers neighbouring bike parks too.
The Chatel facebook page admin were really helpful answering any questions, and speak English. The park has cafes at the halfway point (where you change lifts), with some killer burgers.
While we were there, Chatel held a slopestyle competition which was great to watch. There was also an air bag we could use for free. Bike showers are also free at the bottom by the lift. There are a few bike mechanic tents as well, who are really great when you're in a rush.
Be aware, the cycle from Chatel Village to the lift isnt that easy (about 10 mins in a car), so taking a van may be the best option.
