In 2014, Pamporovo Bike Park will host two major international events, one of which is a round of the World Series! The Pamporovo Bike Cup 2014 and the Pamporovo 4X Pro Tour will be held in June and July and they are expected to cause tremendous interest not only at home but on the global mountain bike scene as well!

The Pamporovo Bike Cup 2014 will be the only major international downhill and cross-country competition for the year and will be held from 20th to 22nd June! The good news is that the race is not only included in the calendar of the International Cycling Union (UCI) but it will also be of the higher class 1 and is expected to trigger the interest of more elite riders! A class 1 competition in the Olympic discipline cross-country is something new for our country – it will happen for the first time in Bulgaria.

Comments from the professional cross-country racers, who were here last year during the Balkan championship - say that the track in Pamporovo is one of the best around. And an entirely new and improved section for climbing will be built this year - with very good visibility for the spectators, a section that will make the track more diverse and more enjoyable to ride.

There will be also some improvements on the downhill track too – more information about that coming soon. Competitors will be divided into several distinct categories – UCI categories for the licensed riders, with points for the world ranking list and a tempting prize fund of over 6500 BGN, and open categories, where anyone who wishes to join the race can do so! We expect this to be one of the best events this year, so we recommend that you don’t miss it!

The next event is 4X Pro Tour Pamporovo which will be held from 12th to 13th July. The race is a round of the Four-cross World Series – 4X Pro Tour – and Velo Park Pamporovo is one of the seven destinations selected for hosting this elite tournament! Tomáš Slavík, a repeated world champion, will arrive in person for the preparation of the race track in spring and together with our team he will make the track worthy of an event of this magnitude. It is a great honour for us to be organizing a round of the World Series 4X Pro Tour and we are very happy that we will meet personally with riders like Thomas, Scott Beaumont and Chris Roberts.

Pamporovo will welcome stars of world mountain bike scene and show what they are capable of in our homeland...in short, we expect something huge, which is not to be missed! The prize fund prepared for the winners is not to be underestimated as well - for the first time in our country the winners will split more than 10 000 BGN, which sounds somewhat tempting.
