Morzine & the Portes du Soleil with DRIFT Riding

Drift Riding provides affordable, well equipped, half board accommodation specifically for bikers at two separate and unique chalets - The Nantegue and The Savoy, both in Morzine in the centre of the Portes du Soleil, the mountain biking Mecca of Europe. We aim to deliver a fun and relaxed place to stay, with a bike mechanic to help with repairs. Our dedicated Drift photographer will be here throughout your stay to capture some professional shots of you on the trails, drops and jumps for you to take away as a reminder to come back to Morzine with Drift soon.

The Accommodation

The Nantegue

A three story converted farm house, it is less than a 5 minute pedal away from the lifts and Morzine's town centre and has all the facilities you need set up for especially for bikers. There's a large garden for BBQ's and a bar with large screens showing sport and MTB videos. And there's a separate lounge for those wanting to kick back and relax. Take care of you bike with our secure and fully equipped bike garage. The chalet's location offers quick access to the whole of the Portes du Soleil bike area.

The Savoy

A stylish modern chalet with traditional features it benefits from a spacious lounge with stunning views of the Pleney, relaxing sofas, a large plasma screen to watch movies or sport, a dining room with equally stunning views where you'll be served wonderful food and an après biking bar which is always a favourite. Naturally there's a secure and fully equipped bike garage for your ride to rest at night! Ideal for bikers who want a bit more comfort and convenience, the Savoy has a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere offering everything you would want from your perfect biking holiday.

Morzine Bike Park

Morzine, standing at 900m altitude, and the Portes du Soleil region which reaches up to 2400m, is often referred to as the 'Mecca' of European mountain biking and is certainly the largest. With 12 linked resorts, 650km of marked trails and 5 bike parks, it honestly is a place to which all true mountain bikers must make a journey. During the summer months the town is full of mountain bikers and other like minded people, so there is a great atmosphere and many familiar (and some famous) faces from the mountain bike scene. Located centrally in the Portes du Soleil lift system, Morzine is ideally situated for exploring the vast network of trails that criss-cross the surrounding area and maps are, of course, always on hand within the chalet as well as knowledgeable staff to point you in the right direction.

Around the Portes du Soleil

As the largest linked mountain biking area in the world there are a number of special biking events that take place during the summer. Each year Châtel Bike Park hosts the Slopestyle Event with world famous freeriders coming to compete, as well as a round of the IXS Downhill Cup Series. Champery and its world cup track hosted the World Championships in 2011 with Great Britain's Danny Hart storming to victory. Morzine has also had the Tour de France come through our streets on numerous occasions, has an annual 4×4 contest and also hosts the Harley Davidson festival every few years.
