Killington Bike Park Report Card

Killington Report Card

With a well-publicized desire to establish the Whistler of the East, huge vertical to play with, and more than one lift open to mountain bikes already, the Killington Bike Park Report Card shows the potential for something big...!

Total Vertical: 1,700 ft
Number of Lifts: 2
Type of uplift: Gondola and 4-man chairlift
Bike Attachment: Hooks on gondola and behind chairs

Beginner Trails: Trail 19 is an excellent new beginner trail, with well-made berms and rollers but only lift accessed from Snowshead Express on the weekends. On the downside green trails on the big mountain are gravel road and sometimes steep.
Intermediate Trails: The vast majority of the trail network is suitable for all-mountain or enduro bikes. Mostly single-track DH variety.
Advanced Trails: No big hits or large drops, but some steep technical options
Technical trails: Most trails were technical with roots and rocks.
Flow/jump trails: There are a few, but not that long of a trail and only with small features.
Trail variety: Many of the trails can be ridden on Enduro bikes. Iconic Freeride features are lacking, while full-on DH can be found. We didn’t get to sample any XC offerings.
Trail Conditions: The maintained trails were in good condition.
Trail signposting: Not that apparent off the top of the mountain, but were sufficient to avoid dropping below base of K1 lift and avoiding a push up. Some intersections were not consistently signed.
Other trails in area: No chance to explore. Unknown. Comments from others please…?! N/A
Day Pass Value for money:
Ease of parking to lift: Could not be closer.
Lift lines: Never a queue.
Quality of rental fleet: Huge numbers of quality bikes available.
On-site Bike Shop: Very well stocked.
Lunch options: Not much available, only hotdogs found at the base.
Water by the lifts (yes/no): At the bottom. YES
Lockers available (yes/no):   YES
Camping/RV park (yes/no): Nothing in the local area. NO
Staff friendliness: Awesome staff.
Family-friendly: Only hiking and sightseeing.
Restaurants: Requires a short drive down the mountain.
Nightlife: A few good bars requiring a short drive down the mountain, not sure how late they stay open.
Random: Huge potential to improve this mountain.
