Alpine Epic Mt Buller

For what is probably the last Tuesday Trail of the season, we thought we'd bring you a taste of what's going on in the south! The Australian Alpine Epic Trail is the first IMBA accredited Epic trail in the Southern Hemisphere. And it's a whopper - a 24 mile ride that descends over 3,608 vertical feet from the top of Mount Buller Bike Park down into the valley. It's a tough trail that takes riders on a journey through the unique snowgum woodlands (that exist nowhere else in the world), over treeless alpine summits, through cool ferny glades surrounded by granite monoliths, and alongside crystal clear mountain streams. The trail can be broken up into sections that can be tackled separately, or you can take the whole thing on at once, which could be a grueling 4-8 hour journey! But however you do it, make sure you hit the awesome 4 mile descent at the end of the ride that's the perfect way to finish. The trail will be launched at this year's Mt Buller Epic Festival, a weekend-long festival on 5-7 December, full of everything you love about mountain biking. Something really epic for those down-under...
