Day 14: Cleaning up the Filth

Day 14: A rest to fix ourselves and the bikes. After 14 days and 4 major bike parks there is a distinctive smell about the URT van and it’s occupants. The bikes are battered, our kit is filthy and our bodies are bruised, so we have holed up in Luzern, central Switzerland with biking friends Sam and Nadège. Their apartment now looks like a bombsite, with clothes, bike parts, laptops etc strewn all over the place. Unless you have an endless supply of kit then a trip like this is going to require the odd day off. The 5th wash-load is now on, and Dan (as good a mechanic as he is a rider) is down in Sam’s bike workshop in the basement fixing up all the bikes. In fact we’ve locked him in the cage down there until he has got all the bikes in full working order again. So ahead of the next stop in Wiriehorn it´s a day or 2 of recovery but we will be back faster and stronger in no time at all.
