Day 24: Back to the Alps

URT Day 24 Bellwald

Day 24: Return to the big mountains. We are heading back to the Alps. Of course the whole tour is branded URT: The Alps, so it was a bit of a detour to visit the Black Forest in the first place. But it was definitely worth it; Todtnau and Bad Wildbad are great fun and really awesome little towns buried in dense woodland with trails disappearing off in every direction. There is so much more riding available than just the bike park trails. Unfortunately we had to leave this morning before the iXS German Champs kicked off, but luckily for us Thomas from iXS was sticking around, so hopefully he can send us a couple of images to use in the next day or so. Good to see that Jasper got 5th place in the elite – check out all the results here.

A change of schedule means that we are now off to Bellwald in Kanton Wallis, Switzerland. But before that we are taking another quick pit-stop in Luzern with Sam and Nadège to fix the bikes and wash some clothes. And this just happens to coincide with the BlueBalls music festival (what kind of a name for a festival is that..!?) so we’ll probably be on the Klosterbräu tonight. But we will still be on the trails by tomorrow afternoon. Finally as a last goodbye to Germany, here’s a video from Todtnau bike park with Dan on the fast and rough iXS Downhill course…
