Day 26: Bellwald Rocks and Roots

URT Day 26 Bellwald

Day 26: Brilliant Bellwald and the airport again. Another big day on the trails. Dan and I rode the 2 DH tracks again and again until arm pump kicked in and there was cramp in our fingers (well mine at least). The rain held off and the trails stayed dry – just a great day of lift accessed riding. But we did forget one thing – the lift closes for lunch between 12:00 and 13:15 so we had a short push back up the hill to get home for lunch after we decided to do “just one more run” as is always the case! Bit of a different approach to lunch… I went for a litre of Winforce Carbo Basic to keep me fuelled. Dan the northern monkey had a cup of tea and a beer. Not much else I can say about that really. @@@ We met a few other riders during the afternoon, including Ares who comes up from Ticino every year to ride this trail. But there were only 4 other riders here today; it is awesome to be able to do run after run with no break, no lift queue, and no congestion on the trails!

I am off to Zurich Airport again this evening to pick up Tim, who finally returns from his activities in Scotland. So I am writing most of this blog on the train that goes under the Furka Pass – very cool, but not that easy as it’s a bumpy ride. This is just as we disappear into the mountain…

Also just heard from Thomas at Extreme Pics, and he has sent through a few images as promised from the iXS German Champs at Bad Wildbad on Sunday – the race we missed cos we had to leave! Here’s a great one of our mate Jasper racing to 5th place, and the rest are on Facebook.

And finally, we have also just heard from Brice who we met on the trails in Verbier. He was in the process of filming a fixed camera position self edit movie of the trails there, and he has just finished. It is pretty awesome so go check it out here…
