Evolution Bike Park in Crested Butte, CO is somewhat off-the-beaten-path. However, the effort to get there is totally worth it. Besides, the drive along scenic byways up and over 12,000ft. mtn passes makes for a sightseeing adventure all its own. A lot of mountain bikers come to Crested Butte to ride XC classics like the "401 trail", but Evolution has been actively expanding their lift served DH trail offerings since 2009 with subsequent steady growth in riders hitting the park trails.

Evolution, strikes an almost perfect balance with its trail system...furnishing equal parts gnar and flow across all levels of rider ability and experience. "Timetable" is a new trail extension off of "Timeline" that was finished in 2013 that caters to the air junkies. While, disciples of tech-gnar will revel in the chaos that is the planned extension of "Psycho-Rocks" trail! Evolution Bike Park has over 25 miles of trail to satisfy the beginner XC biker all the way to expert DH shredder. 

Evolution has a pumptrack at its base, a full-service bike shop with guides available and bike/gear rentals, and plenty of accommodation/restaurant options to choose from. The town of Crested Butte, CO is actually 3 miles from Evolution. However, the Mt. Express shuttle bus is free and runs every 20 minutes between the bike park & "CB" (7:35am-9:35pm, then every 40 min. till midnight). The bike park usually opens around the middle of June through to the end of September (weather permitting).
