Introduction

Grand Targhee Bike Park is located in Alta, Wyoming, nestled in the Caribou-Targhee National Forest. Grand Targhee is about 42 miles from Jackson, Wyoming. Its top elevation is 9,862 ft (3,006 m) with a base at 7,408 ft (2,258 m), giving it a vertical drop of 2,454 ft (748 m). Whoa!

Grand Targhee Bike Park was the first bike park to exist in the grand Tetons region and for good reason! The views at Grand Targhee are unforgettable and unmistakable! They offer loads of trails via lift access, for not only those who want to get crazy in the air or soak up some downhill trails, but also for those who want a nice high mountain cross country trail to bomb down. There is over 37 miles worth of trails to shred in the bike park!

Targhee offers 3 bike skills areas:

  • Otter Slide
  • Astro
  • Chutes & Ladders

At the time of this write-up, Grand Targhee has 2 new (proposed) trails in the works. One is a blue-trail (Firecracker) & the other is a black-trail (Rock Garden). Most of the trails at Targhee right now are more old-school DH style with several good-sized drops, but no gap jumps. Full-suspension (more is better) is recommended on these rough, chundery trails.
