Introduction

Granby Ranch Bike Park (formerly known as Sol Vista Bike Park) sits on private land just 26 miles north of Trestle bike park and 85 miles west of Denver, Colorado. The base elevation is 8,202ft., and the top elevation is 9,202ft. providing mtb riders with 1,000ft.of vertical descent. Granby Ranch bike park has played host to the 2009 and 2010 U.S. National Championship races. They currently have 14 lift-assisted, downhill, gravity-fueled trails that range in difficulty from beginner-to-expert. There are also 8 cross-country trails that can be accessed via the lift as well. They are generally open Thursday-Sunday (weather permitting).

Notorious for big, scary, gap jumps and drops (e.g., "Thunder Huck" jump on the trail Bucnasty), the bike park at Granby Ranch completed a risk management analysis in 2012. They decided to focus more on family friendly trail design and fun-fast-flowy styled terrain. However, they still have some big features, but a keen eye will spot the case-pads and some gaps have been filled-in to reduce the potential risk of injury. Bike Granby Ranch continues its trail reconstruction and improvements with a new connector from Tron to Drifter and the addition of a down ramp on the "Lemonade Drop" on Drifter. There is even a new beginner downhill trail called Strawberry Jam that was finished in 2013.

Private MTB lessons and terrain specific bike & gear rentals are available with pro coaches on staff at Granby Ranch. Two hours of coaching is only $40, and One hour of coaching with lift, bike, & gear is an amazing deal at $99!
